 | Chatten Associates head-aimed vision system provides a 300% to 400% increase in tele-operations effectiveness, compared to any other system (1). The technology we originally developed for DARPA is now commercially available. Our Head-Aimed Remote Viewer (HARV) has been tested on many unmanned systems, from small military robots to 72 ton bulldozers. Video of these tests is available on this web site. | |
| | | The gimbal in the remote HARV unit (shown below) exactly duplicates the operators head motions. The sense of tele-presence is so convincing that the operators vision processing is fooled into believing the operator is actually on the vehicle. The result is a three to four times increase in situational awareness and operating efficiency.
Our HARV unit is a high-performance, low-cost solution to remote control of ground vehicles. The productivity of remote operations remains very high, even when the vehicle is beyond the operators line of sight. | | |
